Renovated and redesigned in 2023 with a strong focus on animal welfare, safety, and efficiency, the Store Ree bull barn represents a milestone for Geno and the cattle breeding industry. Spanning 4,200 square meters, the facility was purposefully developed to create a safe, efficient, and comfortable
environment for both animals and handlers.
Standing over ten meters tall and built with more than 1,300 cubic meters of concrete and nearly 1,000 posts and partitions, Store Ree accommodates 107 bulls in individual pens and includes a dedicated display room for visitors. The layout minimizes the need for bull transportation, improving animal
welfare, staff safety, and environmental sustainability.
To further protect animal health, all visitors arriving from abroad must observe a 48-hour quarantine before entering Store Ree. This strict biosecurity measure prevents disease transmission and reflects Geno’s uncompromising standards for animal care. The modernized Store Ree facility embodies Geno’s vision of breeding for a better life.
With improved animal flow, enhanced welfare, and increased operational efficiency, it reinforces Geno’s commitment to sustainable genetic progress and long-term value for farmers worldwide.
