One topic that often raises questions is the use of nose rings. We believe in openness and want to explain both the reasons behind this practice and how it is carried out.
Our bulls are between 10–12 months old when they are selected for semen production. At this stage, they are fitted with a nose ring for safety reasons. The procedure is always carried out by certified professionals, with great emphasis on animal welfare: the bulls receive sedation and pain relief, and the ring is placed only in the soft tissue. The ring does not affect the bull’s ability to eat or drink, nor does it cause discomfort in daily life. When bulls are moved, they are led with a halter and rope.
In addition, a rope is attached to the nose ring to ensure that, only, if necessary, we can guide the bull and prevent injury to animals or people. This ensures safe handling with minimal stress.
